Premier Episode of Here Come the Moms with Hosts Sharon Naylor and Holli Ehrlich
Welcome to the premier show of Here Come the Moms.

Finally, moms get their most important wedding-related questions answered!  Co-hosts, wedding author Sharon Naylor and Holli Ehrlich provide the latest information for the mothers of the bride and the mothers of the groom.  Brides and moms will learn how to work harmoniously for the perfect wedding experience.

In this episode Sharon & Holli agree that weddings are a happy business and mothers are an important component in wedding planning and ever after.  Weddings are different than five or ten years ago.  Sharon's books, The Mother-of-the-Bride Book and Mother of the Groom, were inspired by moms who are confused about their roles.  They feel caught in the middle of old world and new world traditions.  They are not sure what they are supposed to do or where they fit in.

This podcast will help all moms and step moms enjoy the excitement, the creative process, the celebration.  Planning your wedding is a momentous yet short-lived chapter of your life.  "Expectations are premeditated resentments,"  cites Sharon.  You are bound to be disappointed if you don't have realistic expectations.  Listen and learn how to communicate with your mother and the entire family.

Roles may have changed, but brides absolutely want their moms included in the wedding planning.  Brides today are older, more assertive.  Moms used to be co-planners and now they are part of a team.  Dads and grooms are more involved.  How can a bride and groom pay tribute to their extended family?  Sharon and Holli discuss this and a lot more about the importance of building and securing lasting future relationships.

Stay tuned for upcoming show topics: the new roles and rules for parents, fashion trends, etiquette Do's and Don'ts, conflict resolution tips and more.

There is a lot of fun to be had listening to Here Come the Moms, exclusively on Wedding Podcast Network.

Planet Bride with Henry and Michelle Roth - Alterations and Your Alter Ego - Inside the Fitting Room - Part 2

Henry and Michelle Roth take you behind the curtains in their NYC showroom with real bride Ruth.  She took a train from Albany, NY to discuss her concerns and fears about how the wedding dress fits.  Henry and Michelle take care of this 6' tall bride in the alterations room.  Henry and Michelle want this bride and brides everywhere to be happy with their choice.  Will the dress that Ruth likes accommodate her height and torso?  Is this the dress she will ultimately purchase?

Many questions are asked of Ruth - Are you nervous about today's appointment?  What type of wedding are you having?  Did you use the Internet when looking for the gown?  Did you go to any sample sales?  Did you bring a shoe with the right heel height and lingerie?  Are you happy with the proportion of the bodice?  What are you most conscious of? When you try on a sample size can you vision how it will look once fitted?   What does the bride want to hide on her body the most?  Why are you uncertain?

Can every bride have a better shape and a more flattering, slimming result with a proper fitting?  We learn about measurements, the usage of corsets and the proper hemline.

Some of the important alteration lessons in this podcast are:

Your consciousness about your body must be communicated honestly.  It's all about the dress fitting correctly.  When you look at a photo on a website you are looking at a runway model wearing a dress that has been altered to fit perfectly.  Numbers are only important to the seamstress.  They are irrelevant to the bride.  All that matters is that the bride feels good.

Will Ruth find the gown of her dreams?  What are the pitfalls of alterations?  What do you need to know when you walk into the alterations room?

This and much more on Part 3.  Stay tuned.

Tentation Potel & Chabot is a global catering company with offices in Paris, Moscow and St. Petersburg.  Robert Allen interviews Nicolas Daeppen in the NYC office, a boutique off-premise caterer.  Regardless of scope or location, Tentation Potel & Chabot can produce an intimate reception or tend to the details of a large, ceremonial wedding.

Nicolas was trained at the Lausanne Hotel Management School in Lausanne, Switzerland.  He came to the US in 1986 and started his career in the food and beverage industry.  He has held executive positions at the Swissotel New York, The Drake, Millenium Broadway and the Hotel Nikko San Francisco. He was General Manager and Vice President of Operations at the Helmsley Park Lane. At Tentation he combines personal service and gourmet cuisine with international style.

Nicolas tells us that your wedding can be shaped exactly the way you want.  Their philosophy is to build an experience to remember. Your personality will generate ideas.  What are your favorite foods?  restaurants?  wines?  travel adventures?  What are your ethnic backgrounds? cultures?  This fact finding process helps design a menu of distinctive food and wines.  If you are a food lover that thinks out of the box then this may be a creative alternative.

What are the current trends?  Prefer a tasting menu or family style?  Stations?  What are the benefits of off-site catering?  Time needed to plan?  Are there last minute challenges?  Special requests?  All these questions and more are answered.

Nicolas's advice to couples...find the right caterer to match your needs.  Personality and passion is key.  Spend time with the couple and take care of them.

Newlywedcast with Lisa and Matt who got married at Tavern on the Green

Lisa and Matt tell us how they met and share their proposal story.  We asked them what the first thing they did to start planning their wedding.  When?  Where?  Warm climate please!  If it couldn't be barefoot on the beach then a Sunday afternoon in New York City would be perfect.

Location:  Tavern on the Green - a New York institution overlooking Central Park.  Built to house sheep in 1870, the restaurant became known as Tavern on the Green in 1934.  The setting is perfect for photos.  Lisa and Matt knew that this beautiful venue would be a place they would be able to celebrate anniversaries and special occasions for many years to come.

Four months until the wedding and Lisa needs a dress.  The third dress at the first store?  Did we hear right?  This happy bride-to-be shares her best advice on where to look for your wedding gown.

The ceremony took place in an outdoor garden at Tavern on the Green where 100 guests attended.  Their dog Maggie was the ring bearer.  Lisa and Matt discuss the flowers, the music and the great personalized wedding favors created by their company The Hampton Popcorn Company.   It's a keepsake to remember the day long after the delicious popcorn is eaten.

Rave reviews from their family and friends.  Guests cited that this wedding day was "theme"  Lisa and Matt tell couples in the midst of planning their wedding to be realistic and not worry about every miniscule detail.  They constantly reminded themselves not to get carried away and did their very best to stay true to their relationship.
